Workshop

Art-making workshop: “Pre-Columbian Mosaics With Seeds And Beans”

Artist Andrea Arroyo leads a workshop where participants create a unique mosaic with seeds and beans of different colors and sizes. Art supplies will be provided, feel free to bring your own pattern or drawing and additional dry seeds or beans.

About Andrea Arroyo

Andrea Arroyo is an award-winning artist with an extensive trajectory, she has received numerous recognitions, including “Clinton Global Citizen Award Artist”, Outstanding Women of New York, 21 Leaders for the 21st Century, Groundbreaking Latina in the Arts, Official Artist of the Latin Grammys, New York City Council Citation Award for Achievement in Art, Art in Embassies Program of the US Department of State, Fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, and multiple awards from the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance, the Puffin Foundation, the Harlem Arts Alliance and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.

Her artwork has been published extensively (The New Yorker, The New York Times) and has been the subject of over 150 features in the international media.

As a curator, Andrea Arroyo specializes in exhibitions focusing in socially relevant issues. To date, she has showcased the work of over 300 diverse artists in projects that include “I Have a Dream-50 Years of Change”, “September 11-Past, Present, Future,” “Art Without Borders,” “AriZONA, Artists Respond to the Immigration Issue” and “Women in the Heights”
